Polystyrene or "Styrofoam" is one of the least recycled forms of packaging. Not any more, we say. Most recycling and waste firms do not offer recycling services for EPS, but Mil-tek has a unique solution that not only allows provides a solution to the problem of EPS, it turns it into a source of revenue.
A Mil-tek EPS Compactor works in two stages. First, the polystyrene is shredded to remove both the shape and the air contained within. This is then heated, compacted and reformed into a briquette form, resulting in volume reduction by a ratio of 40:1 (97.5%).
This briquette form of EPS6 is extremely useful, and can be sold for reuse elsewhere. Recycled EPS6 can be used to make mobile phone covers, DVD cases and many other cheap consumer goods. By processing EPS6 using a Mil-tek EPS Polystyrene Compactor, organisations not only make substantial savings compared to sending it in bulk to landfills, but they create a revenue stream as well.
